This weekend, the sun finally came out! In an effort to celebrate the beautiful weather, Dana and I walked from her house in Noe down to the Mission for brunch at Beretta. The neighborhood was lively and the restaurant was bustling. We snatched the last open table outside and basked in the warm sunshine.
Initially, we intended to try a different breakfast spot. However, when we walked by Beretta and saw patrons enjoying their meals at the outdoor tables, we quickly changed our minds. We visited for dinner a couple months ago and had a great time, so we decided to checking out their brunch menu.
We were unquestionably happy with our choice! It was so hard to choose from all the options, but we finally settled on 3. First, we tried the walnut bread topped with burrata and mushroom-truffle honey. I will eat anything with burrata, but this flavor and texture combo was out of this world. It was the perfect balance between sweet and savory, soft and crunchy.
Next up was a pancetta omelet filled with mushrooms and fontina, accompanied with roasted potatoes and a mixed greens salad. I’d say I’m more of a scramble person than an omelet person, but the dish was pretty tasty. Definitely a solid breakfast course.
Last, but certainly not least, was a thin-crust, prosciutto pizza. I love a classic margherita and this one was garnished with ham and arugula. No complaints here…
If you’re looking for a new go-to Italian place with delicious pizza, amazing antipasti, and refreshing cocktails, I highly recommend Beretta. I knew they served a great dinner, and now I can vouch for their brunch too!
