Healdsburg SHED has been on my list for a long time. Usually, when we go up to wine country, we’re in Sonoma, Napa, and St. Helena. But last weekend, we made it further north to the Alexander Valley and I got to try SHED!
It is more beautiful than I imagined. The space is big and airy with a coffee bar in front of the entrance to welcome guests in. We put our name down for brunch at the back where the café is and explored around a bit. The marketplace has fresh produce, kitchenware, gardening tools, you name it! Everything inside felt so purposeful, I loved it.
We already felt refreshed and rejuvenated just being inside. After a decent wait, the hostess seated us by a big window that gives access to their outdoor patio. It wasn’t open, we had on and off rain, but we could see how great the deck was. Shaded by trees and fringed with grapevines? Yes, please!
Our meal was delicious. Their menu is seasonal and all the food is prepared in a beautiful, exposed kitchen. We ordered a Doug’s Eggs (two poached eggs over greens and Levain toast), the Baked Lemon Ricotta Pancake, and a Mezze Plate.
Afterward, we also decided to try the baked goods that had caught our eye when we were waiting. Since we couldn’t pick, we got one of each! Our “quick” bite-to-eat turned into a long and leisurely visit. No complaints here… I can’t recommend Healdsburg SHED enough – looking forward to coming back real soon.
