In the middle of refreshing my Wine Country restaurant list, I discovered that Ninebark is indefinitely closed! I am shocked, and disappointed. To make myself feel better, I’m reminiscing on one of my favorite experiences there. First and foremost, they have a rooftop terrace, which I loved! I really don’t know what beats dining al fresco – there’s just something that feels so good about eating outside and enjoying fresh air. And since downtown Napa is pretty calm, the terrace is relaxing and you don’t hear any traffic. Second, the decor and the energy! I love the Californian, laid-back feel with decorative succulents. It’s cozy and chic at the same time and the staff was always friendly and attentive. Last, but certainly not least, the finger-licking food and drink. I have never had a sit-down meal in their dining room, but my patio picks were the grilled focaccia and ricotta dumplings paired with one of their boozy lemonades, which was garnished with lavender and a lemon wedge… Seriously dreamy! Fingers are crossed that they reopen soon!
