Happy Monday and thank you for reading the latest Weekender! Who else kept it low-key this weekend?
As much as I love adventuring through the city or visiting with friends, it’s nice to take it easy once in a while. On Friday, my dad and I checked out the new restaurant Theo is working at. Sumika is a cozy Japanese grill house, hidden in downtown Los Altos. Honestly, when you go inside, you could totally be in Japan. The simple, no-frills restaurant feels homey and they serve incredible, authentic skewers. Theo ordered us some chicken thighs grilled to smoky perfection. And don’t get me started on the green tea crème brûlée… I definitely plan to go back soon. So much to try!
On Saturday, I watched Moonlight, which I really enjoyed. Next up: La La Land. I know, I can’t believe I hadn’t seen either of them yet! What else did I do this weekend? Oh, ate cake for breakfast – every morning. We celebrated my mom’s birthday on Thursday and ended up with lots of leftover cake. Don’t you just hate it when that happens… There was nothing to do, but eat it multiple times a day! It’s a hard knock life…
Wishing everybody a lovely week!
