One of my best friends was in town a few weeks ago for work and has never really explored Northern California. I decided to take the day off to show her around. And what better to do on a beautiful fall day then go to Wine Country, right?!
We started our day at Domaine Chandon – I’d never been there before either so it was new for both of us. And it was so beautiful! We decided on the Classic Tasting and took our glasses outside to enjoy the quiet, fall sunshine.
After spending a couple hours (yes, a couple) at the winery, I wanted to take Kennedy to Redd Wood downtown Yountville for lunch. Last time I was in town with my folks, we had a delicious dinner there and I knew she would love it!
We sat outside on their patio and ordered the prosciutto crudo and sausage. I was right – the pizza was better than I remembered! Unfortunately, we had poor service… It was almost 3 in the afternoon so there weren’t many other customers, but our waiter was very stuffy, which was a huge letdown since I had an incredible experience the last time.
Regardless, we had a great time! Nothing beats a day filled with sparkling wine, wood-fired pizza, and best friends!
